Terms of Use

Effective date: 6 November 2026

1. Who we are

Baidstack Pty Ltd (ABN 69 672 058 712), Sydney, Australia, runs the RoamBlack and RoamList services ("we", "us").

Contact: hello@roamblack.com

By using roamblack.com or roamlist.roamblack.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them. Our blog at blog.roamblack.com and our partner sites have their own terms.

2. What we do

We are a guide. We find and rank hotels and link you to partner sites where you can see prices and book. We do not sell travel. We do not take payment. We do not make your booking. If that changes, we will publish new terms before it does.

What we publish is general information. It is not advice for your situation.

3. How we earn money

We earn a commission from our partners when you book through some of our links. It costs you nothing extra. We do not add any fee to the price a partner shows. Our partners are listed in our privacy policy, section 8.

Hotels cannot pay to be listed or to move up a list.

4. How we rank

We rank hotels in two places. Here is how each works.

Hotel score. Every hotel has a Hotel score. It starts with the guests' rating out of 10. It then adjusts for how many guests gave that rating. A high rating from many guests counts for more than the same rating from a few. Ratings and hotel facts come from our suppliers and refresh every night. We list only hotels with strong guest ratings from enough reviews.

Lists of hotels (for example, a region or area list). Hotels are ordered by Hotel score alone. Ties go to the hotel with more reviews. Commission, payment and price do not change the order.

Top picks on roamblack.com. Picks start with the Hotel score. We then adjust them a little using these signals:

We choose which regions to feature, and some of the places on the page are held for the best hotels in the region we feature first. No region, hotel or partner pays for it. The picks do not use your name, your email or anything we know about you outside this browser.

Which partner shows first. Some hotels have links to more than one partner. We choose which partner appears first. The choice can depend on whether a partner pays us commission. It never changes the order of hotels.

Writing help. We use AI tools to help write descriptions and highlights. Scores and the order of lists come from the formula, not from AI judgement.

5. Prices

We do not set prices. Partners do. A partner's price can change at any time, and it may differ from what you saw earlier. Check the final price, taxes, fees and conditions on the partner's site before you book.

Our sites show no prices. You see them on the partner's site. Any price we show is a total including taxes and fees, with a currency code and the time we got it.

We do not use "was" prices, and we do not promise the lowest price.

6. Availability

We cannot promise that a hotel, room or rate is available. Availability, rates and details can change quickly. We check our data every night, so it may be out of date. We cannot promise it is complete or correct.

7. Partners and bookings

When you click a button, you leave our site. Your booking is a contract between you and the partner. The partner's terms, cancellation rules, payment and privacy practices apply. We are not a party to your booking. If something goes wrong with a booking, contact the partner first.

8. Using our sites

Please use our sites for your own personal, lawful use. Please do not:

Our robots.txt files tell crawlers what they may read. We may block access that breaks these rules.

9. Our content and others' content

We own, or have a licence for, the text, scores, design and code on our sites. Photos belong to their owners and are used under licence. Hotel names, logos and marks belong to their owners. Links to other sites are not an endorsement. We do not control them.

If you think something on our sites infringes your copyright or other rights, email us with the page address and what you want changed. We will look at it promptly.

10. Your rights under Australian law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010) says cannot be excluded. Nothing in these terms limits those guarantees or any other right that the law does not allow us to limit.

11. Our liability

Our sites are free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss that comes from:

Where the law says we are liable and allows us to limit that liability, we limit it, at our choice, to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again. This does not limit liability for anything the law does not allow us to limit, including death, personal injury and fraud.

12. Privacy

Our privacy policy explains what we collect and why.

13. Changes

We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. A change applies from the date we publish it and does not change what you did before then. If you keep using our sites after a change, you accept the new terms.

14. General

These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about our sites. If a court finds part of them invalid, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term, we do not give it up. We may transfer our rights under these terms if the business is sold.

15. Governing law

The laws of New South Wales, Australia, govern these terms. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and of the Commonwealth of Australia. We write these terms for visitors in Australia.
